Duties of a Facility Operations Manager
ATI is seeking a highly motivated, qualified, and experienced Facility Operations Manager for a position located in the Washington, DC area. Position required to direct and manage staff and contractors for all facility (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) O&M, grounds, and road maintenance work. This may include:
  • Developing, maintaining, and enforcing facility maintenance plans;
  • Supervising the work of skilled trades, general maintenance, and custodial workers;
  • Performing facility inspections to provide comprehensive facility condition assessments;
  • Overseeing completion of complex infrastructure or asset repair/installation projects with in-house staff or subcontractors;
  • Planning work activities, developing budgets, and expending funds within established limits to meet maintenance goals;
  • Overseeing the entry of maintenance data into a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS);
  • Serving as the on-site point of contact for formal and informal discussions with the customers with the intent to sustain customer satisfaction;
  • Reviewing resources, procedures, and methods to improve operational effectiveness, utility, and efficiency;
  • Ensuring proper staffing and continuity of support;
  • Providing accurate and timely management and contract reports;
  • Identifying vendors and reviewing/approving their proposals; and
  • Ensuring the quality and safety of all provided services.
  • This role involves working in secure environments in support of mission-critical operations.

Required Qualifications for Facility Operations Manager
  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain clearance; Candidate must be able to work independently in a secure or sensitive environment;
  • Minimum of 10 years of recent facility operations and maintenance experience as a Chief Engineer or a Facility Manager at a facility of similar or greater size (550,000 SF) and scope;
  • 10 years of demonstrated experience with asset and equipment management, workflow management, and CMMS platforms;
  • Experience with the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach preferred;
  • Proficiency using MS Office (including MS Word and Excel) and excellent verbal and written communication skills - a short writing sample will be required;
  • High level of professionalism for client interaction and employee management/support;
  • Experience in the transition of facilities from construction to full operations is highly desirable; and
  • Current Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus but not required.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000/year depending on experience
Location: Springfield, VA
Working Hours: Normal Work Hours - Monday - Friday (anticipate 40 per week).
