**IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL RESIDE WITHIN 25 MILES OF ANDERSON, IN**


POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating internal cross-dock and warehousing operations. Responsible for ensuring and improving the safety performance, productivity, and efficiency of departments and organizational operations through utilizing KPIs.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leading the day-to-day cross-dock operation
  • Analyze and present operational data to support performance tracking and process improvement
  • Train on all safety procedures, operational processes, and customer requirements
  • Primary liaison between the cross-dock and its’ customers
  • Facilitate professional development of Team Leaders and staff
  • Lead and implement Kaizen activities
  • Ensure adherence to all company standards and processes
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and productive work environment
  • Fosters operational improvements
  • Maintain accurate performance metrics
  • Work Monday - Friday
  • weekend requirements may apply with advanced notice


EDUCATION:

Relevant degree or 3-5 years industry experience. College degree in business administration, commerce, management, industrial technology, or industrial engineering are strongly preferred.



EXPERIENCE:

Must have prior management experience in high volume material handling, preferably in the automotive industry. Five (5) plus years in management strongly preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to understand material handling equipment safely. Must possess a strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to apply problem solving strategies to improve processes. Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations required. Proven leadership capabilities required.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job will focus upon the direction of work activities and will be responsible for direct management / supervisory duties affecting our team. Must be able to effectively train team members on all safety procedures, operational processes, and customer requirements. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance by verifying that all team members are properly trained, competent, and consistently following established standards.



COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must have working knowledge of PC applications and cognitive ability to learn customer software application(s). Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook email required. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary. Must be analytical, capable of extracting, importing, exporting, and analyzing operational data to support performance tracking and process improvement. Must also be able to present data to senior leadership.



OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple ever-changing priorities at one time. Ability to accurately understand written and verbal instructions and effectively relay that information to team members. The ability to lift up to 75lbs required.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is within our cross-dock facility; thus you will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements set for entering the dock and yard areas. Such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings. Dress appropriately for weather as the indoor facility is not climate controlled.
