The Planner II will lead strategic procurement, planning, and supply chain initiatives with a focus on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and aligning operations with organizational goals. This role drives cross-functional projects, manages supplier negotiations, and oversees compliance while implementing advanced planning and forecasting strategies.

Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Chillicothe, MO facility.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes procurement strategies to optimize vendor performance and cost-efficiency. Leads supplier negotiations, manages high-value contracts, and ensures supplier compliance with long-term goals.

  • Oversees advanced planning functions, including long-term demand forecasting and capacity planning. Leads planning for smaller sites and integrates their requirements into overall supply chain objectives.

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives and mentors junior team members.

  • Works to achieve program, functional, and/or business targets within team with direct impact on departmental results

  • Established professional; works under limited supervision

  • Communicates with employees both within and outside of the department on matters that require explanation, interpretation and/or advising; may communicate with external clients or partners depending upon the job function/organization

  • Responsible for making moderate improvements of programs, processes, procedures, or systems to contribute to the performance of the team

  • Provides assistance and training to lower-level employees

  • Requires advanced knowledge of department, typically obtained through advanced education and relevant experience (typically at least five years, including complex experience)

  • Works independently on moderately complex projects/assignments and sets objectives or goals of projects and assignments within team

  • Influences employees within the department at a program/process level regarding concepts or practices and some advisement on approaches

  • Problems faced are difficult and mildly complex and typically impact a single organization, department or multiple teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of Planning and scheduling experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis and ad-hoc reports

  • Experience in lean manufacturing environment

  • Good communication skills and strong sense of teamwork

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively
