Job description

We are seeking a Personal Injury Legal Assistant to support Council & Associates’ Pre-Litigation Department. An ideal candidate must be organized, motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced environment without compromising excellent customer service. 

Compensation:

$21 hourly


Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requesting medical records and itemized billing
  • Setting up claims with insurance carriers (liability, uninsured motorist, umbrella, etc.)
  • Setting up claims with health insurance companies (e.g., Medicare, CMS, Medicaid, ERISA, VA)
  • Sending open records requests (police reports, 911 calls, CAD reports, etc.)
  • Corresponding with medical providers
  • Obtaining lien verifications and final closure letters from providers and insurance companies
  • Assisting Case Managers with tasks as needed
  • Maintaining excellent client service

Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of experience in a legal position, personal injury experience a plus. Meticulous attention to detail and organization
  • Working knowledge of Chartswap, CIOX, Healthport, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and similar software
