Job description

Large well established law firm based in Florida with offices throughout Florida and the U.S. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Personal Injury Legal Assistant to join their team. The firm prides itself on knowing every client personally and offering the vast resources of a large law firm but with the customer service and attention of a boutique practice.

As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to the firms’ personal injury attorneys through the life-cycle of cases, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of personal injury law procedures and possess excellent multitasking and communication skills. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Personal Injury Legal Assistant to be considered. This position is on-site at the firm’s Ponte Vedra, Florida office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist personal injury attorneys in all phases of case preparation and management.
  • Conduct thorough research on legal precedents, regulations, and statutes relevant to personal injury cases.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Manage case files, ensuring all necessary documents are accurately organized and easily accessible.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, depositions, mediations, and court appearances for attorneys.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on case progress and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Liaise with opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnesses as needed.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including the compilation of exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
  • Processing of pleadings, motions and correspondence (e-service and physical) and use of the Florida e-filing portal.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3 years of prior experience working as a Legal Assistant in personal injury law
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, working knowledge of Clio Case Management Software is a plus but not required
  • Must have proficiency in legal research and familiarity with online legal databases
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be deadline and detail oriented
  • Must have the ability to interact professionally with clients, counsel, and court personnel
