We are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated Personal Injury Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our close-knit, fast-paced team and help us continue fighting for the maximum results our clients deserve.

Position Overview

As a Personal Injury Paralegal, you will manage a heavy case load from initial client intake through the discovery phase, all the way up to trial preparation. You will act as a primary point of contact for clients, medical providers, and defense counsel, ensuring that all client files are meticulously organized, deadlines are rigorously tracked, and documentation is complete.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management & Intake: Conduct detailed initial client intakes, answer incoming phone lines professionally, and open/maintain comprehensive digital and physical client files.
  • Calendaring & Scheduling: Masterfully manage the firm calendar; coordinate and schedule client meetings, depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and site inspections.
  • E-Filing: Efficiently handle electronic filing and case tracking through New Jersey’s E-Courts system.
  • Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and format a wide variety of legal documents using Microsoft Word, including letters, initial pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and trial documents.
  • Medical Records Management: Request, follow up on, organize, and comprehensively review medical records and billing liens; utilize knowledge of medical terminology to summarize records for demand packages.
  • Legal Research: Conduct occasional legal research to support case development and motion practice.
  • General Office Support: Manage daily office filing, sorting mail, and coordinating administrative requests.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Experience: Previous experience as a personal injury legal assistant or paralegal.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Word and extensive hands-on experience utilizing New Jersey E-Courts for electronic filings.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish/English is highly valued and considered a major plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with personal injury litigation procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology is a significant advantage.
