Reports To: Marketing Manager and/or Marketing Specialist
Internship Duration: August 2026 - May 2027 (Full Season Commitment Required)

The Florida Everblades Hockey Club, a premier member of the ECHL and multiple-time Kelly Cup Champion, plays at Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida. Alongside a full calendar of concerts, family shows, and special events, Hertz Arena serves as Southwest Florida's leading entertainment destination.
Our marketing team sits at the center of it all-driving ticket sales, building fan loyalty, executing high-impact campaigns, and creating unforgettable live experiences. This internship offers a rare opportunity to work across both professional sports and live event marketing in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Position Overview
The Florida Everblades and Hertz Arena are seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic individuals for a season-long Marketing (Hockey and Non-Hockey Events) Internship. This role is designed for students pursuing careers in sports, entertainment, and integrated marketing.
Interns will gain hands-on experience across campaign strategy, digital marketing, event promotion, fan engagement, and live event execution-playing a direct role in both professional hockey and major arena events.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Campaign Execution
  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote Everblades games, concerts, and arena events
  • Support ticket sales initiatives through strategic promotional efforts and grassroots marketing
  • Collaborate with internal teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Assist in tracking, reporting, and analyzing campaign performance and fan engagement metrics

Digital Marketing & Content
  • Support day-to-day management of social media platforms for both Hertz Arena and the Florida Everblades
  • Assist in the creation of digital and print assets including social graphics, email campaigns, and promotional materials
  • Help execute email marketing campaigns, including presales, on-sales, and event communications
  • Maintain website content updates and support overall website operations

Marketing Technology & Platforms
Interns will gain direct, hands-on experience with industry-leading tools, including:
  • Fannex Team App (fan engagement and mobile experience)
  • StellarAlgo (fan data, segmentation, and insights)
  • Vozzi (SMS marketing campaigns and fan communication)
  • Mailchimp (email marketing strategy and execution)
  • Dash Auction (activation setup, execution, and day-to-day management)

Event Marketing & Promotions
  • Work closely with internal marketing team to execute event-specific marketing plans
  • Assist in managing media budgets, invoices, and campaign tracking for event settlement
  • Help coordinate radio partners, sponsors, and promotional vendors for on-site activations
  • Support the creation and execution of event promotions, giveaways, contests, and fan engagement initiatives
  • Assist in artist relations efforts including creative gifting, guest experiences and back-of-house experiences

Game Day & Event Execution
  • Play a key role in executing gameday and event-day marketing operations
  • Participate in live game coverage, including real-time (live) tweeting and social posting during both home and away games
  • Assist with on-site activations, promotions, and fan engagement experiences
  • Set up and manage promotional areas, booths, and in-arena experiences
  • Collaborate with game operations to ensure seamless integration of marketing elements

Research & Strategy
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, audience insights, and growth opportunities
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends in sports and entertainment marketing
  • Provide recommendations to improve campaign performance and fan experience

Commitment Requirements (Strict & Non-Negotiable)
  • Full Season Commitment: August 2026 - May 2027 (no partial internships)
  • Event Requirement: Must work a minimum of 50% of all events each month (includes home games, away games remotely, and non-hockey events at Hertz Arena)
  • Weekly Requirement: Minimum of at least one full business day per week in-office, 10 am - 5 pm.
  • Availability: Nights, weekends, and holidays required based on event schedule
  • Time-Off Policy: Minimum two (2) weeks' advance notice required for any absence
  • Event Expectation: Must be available for both Everblades games and Hertz Arena events

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a college or university program in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Business, or related field
  • Strong interest in sports, live events, and entertainment marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
  • Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
  • Photography, videography, or content production experience is a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
