Job description

This position isresponsible for managing patient accounts, including negotiating payment plansand supporting the timely collection of outstanding balances. This role handlespatient and vendor inquiries related to insurance billing and account balances,provides clear and professional communication to resolve payment concerns, andmaintains accurate documentation of all interactions and account activity. TheRepresentative ensures compliance with company policies and applicable legaland regulatory requirements.
REPORTS TO
This position reports directly to the Patient AccountsManager and works collaboratively with other Emergicon personnel across alldepartments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข Handle high-volume inbound calls relatedto claims and statement inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and lawoffices.
โ€ข Make outbound calls to resolve delinquentaccounts through patient payment arrangements.
โ€ข Process credit card and ACH transactionsefficiently and accurately.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with state and federalcollections regulations, as well as HIPAA requirements.
โ€ข Other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
โ€ข High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)required
โ€ข Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
โ€ข At least six months of experience incustomer service, collections, healthcare billing, or patient accounts required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
โ€ข Strong oral and written communicationskills to interact effectively with customers and all levels of management
โ€ข Proven ability to prioritize tasks, solveproblems, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
