Our team is made up of driven professionals who take pride in supporting clients in a wide range of medical specialties, from primary care to specialized practices.
SperoMD is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Account Representative to join our team. In this role, you will manage self-pay account balances, post patient payments, and serve as the primary point of contact for patient billing inquiries. You'll work closely with internal teams-including billing and coding-to resolve account issues and ensure timely communication and resolution for our patients. This position will be on-site at our Northbrook home office.
What you will do:
  • Post patient payments and set up payment plans.
  • Contact patients with overdue accounts to arrange payment.
  • Generate account correspondence based on current account status.
  • Collaborate with coding and billing teams to resolve account issues.
  • Respond to internal staff messages and emails in a timely manner.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly in alignment with SperoMD's call quality standards.
  • Follow up with patients to ensure resolution of their concerns.
  • Accurately document all account activity per established workflows.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Patient Account Coordinator as necessary.
  • Uphold and model SperoMD Core Values in all interactions

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with Epic or other electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
  • Knowledge and level of comfort with Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Google Suite experience preferred
  • Strong verbal communication skills required

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience preferred
  • 3 years of related customer service experience
