Job description

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director, Strategic Partnerships to build and scale Guidepoint's partnerships function, with an initial focus on distribution and platform partnerships across the research ecosystem. This is a hybrid role, based in NYC.
This role will identify, structure, and execute partnerships that expand how Guidepoint's content, research products, and intelligence solutions are accessed, embedded, and monetized. Over time, the mandate is expected to broaden to include product, AI, and strategic data licensing partnerships.
This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of product, commercial strategy, and corporate development. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable shaping partnership strategy, negotiating complex deals, and working internally across product, sales, and leadership teams to bring partnerships to life.
What You'll Own
Distribution & Platform Partnerships
  • Develop and execute Guidepoint's strategy for distribution and platform partnerships.
  • Identify and prioritize external research platforms, marketplaces, workflow tools, and strategic partners where Guidepoint content or products can be distributed or embedded.
  • Structure partnerships that expand the reach, usage, and monetization of Guidepoint's Library and related intelligence products.
  • Evaluate partnership opportunities across institutional investor, research, and enterprise workflows.

Commercial & Strategic Deal Execution
  • Lead end-to-end partnership development including sourcing, evaluation, business case development, negotiation, and execution.
  • Structure commercial agreements and partnership models including distribution, co-branded offerings, embedded access, licensing, and other monetization frameworks.
  • Build commercial frameworks that align partner incentives with Guidepoint's strategic and revenue goals.
  • Serve as the internal point of coordination for strategic partnership opportunities.

Cross-Functional Partnership Enablement
  • Partner closely with product, sales, legal, and senior leadership to bring partnerships from concept to launch.
  • Help define packaging, positioning, and operational requirements needed to support external partnerships.
  • Ensure partnerships are structured in ways that are practical, scalable, and aligned with Guidepoint's broader product roadmap.

Future Expansion: Product, AI & Data Partnerships
  • Over time, help shape Guidepoint's approach to product partnerships and emerging technology collaborations.
  • Evaluate opportunities with AI-enabled research tools, data platforms, and other intelligence ecosystems.
  • Explore opportunities to license or strategically monetize Guidepoint's proprietary content and data assets.
  • Support the development of long-term partnership strategy as Guidepoint's intelligence products evolve.

What Success Looks Like
  • A clear and prioritized strategic partnership roadmap aligned with Guidepoint's growth strategy.
  • Execution of high-impact distribution and platform partnerships that expand the reach and monetization of Guidepoint's Library and intelligence products.
  • Strong internal coordination across product, commercial, and leadership teams.
  • A scalable foundation for future product, technology, and data partnerships.

Competencies
  • Market Landscaping: Strong understanding of the research, AI, and data ecosystem, including key platforms, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics. Ability to map the value chain, identify relevant players, and prioritize partnership opportunities aligned with client needs and company strategy.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify where partnerships create differentiated value for clients and the business.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong judgment in evaluating deal economics, strategic tradeoffs, and long-term growth potential.
  • Negotiation & Influence: Skilled in structuring complex agreements and aligning multiple stakeholders.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and internal teams to drive long-term partnership success.

What We're Looking For:
  • 8-12+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, corporate development, or related commercial roles
  • Experience structuring and negotiating complex commercial partnerships
  • Strong understanding of research platforms, information services, workflow tools, data products, or adjacent ecosystems
  • Ability to evaluate both strategic and economic value of partnership opportunities
  • Experience working cross-functionally across product, commercial, and executive stakeholders
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Prior expert network experience is not required, but familiarity with data-driven research businesses is helpful.

What We Offer:
The annual base salary for this position is $180,000 - $200,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for a yearly bonus based on performance.
