Team Overview

Credit Risk Solutions, part of TransUnion's Global Solutions organization, delivers data, analytics, and decisioning capabilities that enable trusted credit decisions across global markets while advancing the company's alternative data strategy. The team drives innovation across financial institutions, fintechs, and ecosystem partners. The Principal, Alternative Data, Product Strategy & Partnerships will report directly to the Sr. Director, Alternative Data. In this role, the individual will lead product and partnership strategy to develop new solutions, acquire new data assets, and scale offerings that deliver commercial value across the financial services and technology ecosystem. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

  • Lead product and partnership strategy to drive development of alternative data products and strengthen TransUnion's position in trusted decisioning

  • Identify market opportunities and translate client needs into scalable product capabilities and measurable commercial outcomes

  • Structure and execute strategic partnerships with financial institutions, fintechs, and data providers to expand data assets and solution offerings

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation through proof-of-concept, MVP (Minimum Viable Product), and full-scale delivery

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure successful execution

  • Act as a subject matter expert with clients, translating use cases into product requirements and influencing solution design

  • Drive voice-of-customer insights and competitive intelligence to inform product roadmap and partnership strategy

  • Oversee partner onboarding, data integrations, and delivery to ensure operational excellence and scalability

  • Collaborate with sales teams to establish and grow strategic partnerships that drive revenue and client impact

  • Represent TransUnion externally through thought leadership, industry events, and client engagements

Required Knowledge and Experiences

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or strategic partnerships within financial services or fintech, enabling successful delivery of complex product initiatives and commercial outcomes

  • Deep understanding of credit markets, financial services ecosystems, and data flows, enabling effective product and partnership decision-making

  • Experience translating ambiguous market signals into structured product strategies, roadmaps, and client solutions

  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with clients and partners to drive alignment, execution, and results

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree is a plus

Required Technical Skills

  • Experience working with data products, analytics, and data platforms to support product development and delivery

  • Ability to partner with Engineering and Data Science teams to scope and deliver complex data-driven solutions

  • Experience evaluating data studies and translating insights into product direction and business recommendations

  • Familiarity with product development methodologies including MVP (Minimum Viable Product), product roadmaps, and lifecycle management

  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations within financial services environments

Pay Scale Information:The U.S. base salary range for this position is $168,750.00 - $281,250 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual's education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion's annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
