KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Director, F&A - Firm Taxes to join our Partner Tax team.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the firm's domestic and international tax compliance functions, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and risk management priorities; lead and champion firm-wide process improvement and automation initiatives in collaboration with the technology team and senior leadership, driving innovation and operational excellence across all tax functions, including use of AI technologies
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Technology Financial Services team and other cross-functional groups to guide enhancements to the suite of partner applications, ensuring tax compliance and reporting needs are met at the highest level
  • Oversee and approve complex tax filings for the KPMG partnership, including review of high-risk or high-value returns, and provide expert guidance on technical tax matters
  • Direct, mentor, and develop tax department staff and managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and high performance
  • Establish and maintain robust internal tax compliance systems and processes, proactively identifying and implementing changes in response to legislative and regulatory developments; set standards and provide guidance for all matters with respect to tax return processing, including prototypes, federal and state K-1 processing and related compliance activities, ensuring consistency with current department policies and regulatory requirements
  • Lead audit support activities, including strategic correspondence, data compilation, audit coordination, and resolution of complex audit issues; advise executive management and partners on tax planning opportunities, risk mitigation strategies, and the impact of tax law changes on firm operations
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:
  • Minimum fifteen years of recent, progressive experience in public accounting or a senior leadership role within a corporate tax department or extensive experience with US tax compliance for large partnerships
  • Advanced degrees from an accredited college or university such as MST or JD and CPA are preferred; minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or related field is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale, complex tax compliance projects and leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint), including mastery of advanced Excel features; experience with tax compliance software such as Thomson Reuters GoSystem and BNA Superforms
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships at the executive level, influencing decision-making and driving organizational change, with a track record of successfully delivering results in environments with shifting deadlines and priorities; five years
  • experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on mentoring, succession planning, and talent development
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax issues to senior management and external stakeholders; demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in tax processes and systems
