Job description

Why Join GEICO?
At GEICO, we offer a rewarding career where your ambitions are met with endless possibilities.
Every day we honor our iconic brand by offering quality coverage to millions of customers and being there when they need us most. We thrive on relentless innovation to exceed our customers' expectations while making a real impact on local communities nationwide.
Founded in 1936, GEICO is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and one of the largest auto insurers in the United States. When you join our company, we want you to feel valued, supported, and proud to work here. That's why we offer the GEICO Pledge: Great Company, Great Culture, Great Rewards, and Great Careers.
Manager, Partnership Strategy
Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite. Corporate offices in Bethesda, MD or Manhattan, NY.
Reports To: VP, Integrated Marketing & Media
About the Role
Within Marketing at GEICO, partnerships are one of the most powerful ways the brand earns its place in culture. Getting this right means more than placing the logo - it means showing up in ways that feel genuine, resonant, and worth paying attention to.
The Manager, Partnership Strategy brings a creative, human-centered lens to how GEICO builds and activates its partnership programs. This role translates GEICO's brand voice and creative direction into partnership strategies - developing branded content concepts through entertainment and sports sponsorships, shaping how the brand's personality flexes across different partner contexts, and writing the strategic briefs and points of view that get ideas greenlit. The work spans concept to execution: you'll collaborate directly with entertainment properties, sports organizations, talent, and production teams to build integrations that feel earned, not forced.
This role rewards someone who can think strategically and write persuasively - turning big-picture ideas into clear briefs and tangible programs. If you've done this kind of partnership strategy work before and want to bring it to one of the most recognized brands in the country, this is that opportunity.
How We Work
The Marketing organization at GEICO is guided by a clear set of principles: we hire the best at every level and invest in developing them. We believe that strategy comes before action - if we don't know why we're doing something, we don't do it. We bring the same care and accountability to how we spend resources as we would if it were our own business. And when there are challenges, we face them directly and collectively. Leaders in this organization are expected to bring that same mindset to their teams.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy & Concept Development
  • Build program concepts grounded in real audience personas and lived experience - not just reach and demographics
  • View channels, talent, and partners as opportunities to bring the brand and products to life for audiences, not simply places to place ads
  • Time messaging thoughtfully, matching ideas to cultural moments where GEICO's participation feels additive
  • Push new ideas and thought leadership with partners proactively - finding opportunities before competitors do

Integration Ideation & Activation
  • Lead development of branded and integrated product content approaches within media and sports partnerships, spotting opportunities for storytelling that fits naturally within a partner's platform or programming
  • Collaborate directly with entertainment platforms, sports organizations, talent, and production teams to build integrations that feel earned, not forced
  • Shape ideas that add to how people consume media and content rather than interrupting it
  • Ensure programs stand out in ways that add to how audiences feel about GEICO within partner environments

Brand Voice & Tone Adaptation
  • Evolve how GEICO's brand personality is expressed across different partners - leaning into distinct tones as needed - while keeping messaging consistent with GEICO's established brand foundation
  • Prioritize genuine connection and cultural relevance in every recommendation
  • Ensure work aligns with brand standards and messaging direction in close partnership with Creative, Product, and Legal

Briefs, Presentations & Stakeholder Alignment
  • Write clear strategic briefs and points of view for entertainment and sports partnership programs - spelling out both the creative rationale and how tone will adapt while staying anchored to the brand
  • Present strategic thinking and content concepts to senior leaders and executives, building credibility and support for forward-looking ideas
  • Work closely with Creative, Product, Insights, and Analytics partners to keep programs aligned and moving

You May Be a Good Fit If You
  • Have built partnership strategy and branded content programs - not just supported them - and can point to the ideas you developed and the results the work drove
  • Have operated within partnership portfolios at scale, including diverse investment frameworks and contracted outputs
  • Write with clarity and strategic conviction - your briefs and presentations make people want to say yes
  • Are energized by building something that doesn't exist yet, rather than optimizing something already established
  • Can flex brand voice across wildly different partner contexts and still keep it recognizably GEICO

Ideal Experience
  • Experience: 8+ years in marketing spanning both traditional and digital partnership, with proven, demonstrable results developing bespoke, partner-specific programs and activations
  • Branded content: Direct experience building branded content initiatives tied to entertainment or sports sponsorships, from idea through finished execution
  • Brand voice fluency: A strong sense of how to flex brand voice across different partner contexts without losing consistency or diluting the brand
  • Strategic writing: Experience writing strategic narratives and presentations for senior executive audiences
  • Partner relationships: Experience pushing new ideas with major partners, finding efficiencies, and landing opportunities ahead of competitors
  • Leadership: Track record building and guiding teams and investing in talent growth, even at a matrixed or informal level
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required

Strong Candidates May Also Have
  • Experience building a partnership or branded content practice in a transformational or matrixed organization
  • A track record of identifying and scaling emerging partnership formats ahead of broader market adoption
  • Direct relationships with entertainment properties, sports organizations, or talent representation
