Product management atย Versapayย is a craft that blends strategic thinking, customer empathy, and strong execution. Asย Senior Product Manager, Payments, you will own theย end-to-end payments product and experience, from customer-facing workflows through underlying processing, settlement, and partner integrations.ย 
In this role, you will be accountable for the vision, strategy, and delivery of ourย paymentsย capabilities, with a particular focus on our payment processing gateway and broader payments ecosystem. You willย operateย with a holistic mindsetโ€”owning outcomes across reliability, usability, scalability, and commercial performanceโ€”rather than isolated features.ย 
This role pairs deep payments domain ownership with modern product management practices. You will lead end-to-end product development, driveย customerย and business value through data-informed decisions, and collaborate across engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative paymentsย experiences. You will also regularlyย representย theย paymentsย product strategy and performance to senior leadership,ย influencing direction and investment decisions.ย

What you'll do:
  • Product Strategy & Visionย 
  • Own and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for payments, aligned with companyย objectivesย and growth plans.ย 
  • Take a holistic view of theย end-to-end payments experience, ensuring customer, operational, and platform considerations are tightly integrated.ย 
  • Define and evolve theย paymentsย roadmap, balancing customer needs, regulatory requirements, operational scalability, and commercial outcomes.ย 
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging payment methods, and competitive offerings to inform strategy and prioritization.ย 
  • Identifyย opportunities for cross-product alignment, standardization, and platform unification across the broader product portfolio.ย 
End-to-End Product Ownershipย 
  • Lead payments products through the full product development lifecycle, from discovery and ideation through launch and continuous improvement.ย 
  • Partner closely with engineering and design to translate customer problems into well-defined requirements, epics, and user stories.ย 
  • Prioritize the product backlog based on customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility.ย 
  • Drive high-quality execution across multiple workstreams whileย maintainingย a strong bias toward action
Payments Domain Leadershipย 
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for payments, including payment gateways, processors, payment facilitators, settlement, and funding flows.ย 
  • Own integrations and relationships with major processors and partners (e.g.,ย Adyen, Fiserv, Global Payments).ย 
  • Ensure products are built with a strong understanding ofย paymentsย operations, risk, compliance, and scalability.ย 
  • Help shape the future of ourย paymentsย infrastructure to support global growth.ย 
Customer & Market Insightย 
  • Be the expert on the customer: deeply understand who is using our payments products, what problems they are trying to solve, and how success is measured.ย 
  • Conduct market research, customer interviews, and data analysis toย identifyย opportunities andย validateย solutions.ย 
  • Design hypotheses and experiments to test assumptions and drive learning.ย 
Data-Driven Decision Makingย 
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success across adoption, revenue, reliability, and customer outcomes.ย 
  • Use product analytics, customer feedback, and operational data to inform prioritization andย identifyย areas for improvement.ย 
  • Present product strategy, progress, and performance to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.ย 
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influenceย 
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams across engineering, design, sales, marketing, professional services, and customer success.ย 
  • Act as the primary point of contact forย paymentsย products, aligning internal teams and external partners around shared goals.ย 
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and ensure teams are focused on delivering the highest-impact outcomes.ย 
Go-To-Market & Adoptionย 
  • Partner with go-to-market teams to define value propositions, pricing inputs, and launch strategies for payments capabilities.ย 
  • Create internal and customer-facing documentation, training materials, and presentations to support successful launches.ย 
  • Drive adoption and ongoing success of payments products post-launch.ย 
Leadership & Craft Excellenceย 
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on customer value and continuous improvement.ย 
  • Mentor and influence other product managers, helping elevate the craft of product management across the organization.ย 
  • Operate effectively in a complex environment, makingย timelyย decisions while managing tradeoffs.ย 
What you'll bring to the team
  • Required Qualificationsย 
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, including ownership of complex, user-facing digital products.ย 
  • Proven experience building, launching, and scaling payments or fintech products.ย 
  • Strong understanding of payments ecosystems, including gateways, processors, payment facilitators, and settlement flows.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability toย communicate product strategy and results to senior leadership,ย including experience presenting to executive audiences.ย 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile development environment.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into clear product direction and execution.ย 
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions.ย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complexity for technical and non-technical audiences.ย 
Educationย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.ย 
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.ย 
  • Tools & Ways of Workingย 
  • Experience with product and delivery tools such as Jira and product analytics platforms (e.g., Heap,ย Mixpanel, Amplitude).ย 
  • Comfort working with APIs, data, and complex systems at scale.ย 
What Will Make You Stand Out (Nice to Have)ย 
  • Experience with ISO standards and payment facilitator operations.ย 
  • Technical understanding of payment frameworks and data models.ย 
  • Experienceย operatingย in highly regulated or globalย paymentsย environments.ย 
  • Builder mentality: entrepreneurial, adaptable, and comfortable defining net-new initiatives in ambiguous spaces.ย
