POSITION: Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with new customers in the commercial landscape industry. Working closely with other members of the regional management team, you will play a crucial role in the growth and success of the business.  The successful candidate will have tenacity, excellent relationship development skills, be highly motivated, and want to be part of a winning team.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and business opportunities. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics in the industry, and our customer value proposition.
  • Actively seek and engage potential clients through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and other outreach strategies. Maintain an updated CRM system.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and referral sources.
  • Develop presentation materials that align our services and solutions with client needs.
  • Assist the company President and General Manager in negotiating contract terms and pricing.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to new business development.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.

 

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE

  • A track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in a commercial field service business. Familiarity with commercial landscape maintenance services preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with potential customers, negotiate effectively, and close deals.
  • Highly developed ability to clearly communicate complex proposals and multi-phase solutions to customers and other stakeholders who are not landscaping industry experts.
  • High levels of personal determination and ambition complimented by a positive "can do" attitude and an ability to quickly build influential relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, psychology, or a related field preferred.
