BASIC PURPOSE
To provide clerical and dispatch assistance to the Dept. of Campus Safety.
Hours: Mon-Thurs 4pm to 10pm (24 hours per week)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer non-emergency & emergency phone lines and assist callers accordingly. Dispatches campus safety personnel, via two-way radio, to calls for service. Monitors and replies to portable radio communications from both campus safety and facilities/custodial personnel. Assists "walk-ins" at the Campus Safety Dept. office.
- Monitors numerous security camera "live feeds" and remote door unlocking / locking systems throughout the campus. Logs access card distribution to on-site contractors.
- Monitors Campus Safety Dept. emails and handles the recording and processing of Campus Safety Dept. issued parking tickets.
- Handles the labeling, logging, securing, and returning of Lost & Found items while maintaining the associated database.
- Contacts Emergency Services / "911" for law enforcement, fire company, or EMS response, as well as notifying fire alarm monitoring stations for alarm testing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Campus Safety and / or the Campus Safety Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education/Training/Work Experience:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
- Six months directly applicable experience preferred
- Communication and computer skills
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of specific computer software (Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, etc.)
- Customer Service experience
