Part-Time Medical Records Assistant

Golden San Andreas Care Center | San Andreas, CA

Job Summary

Golden San Andreas Care Center is seeking a Part-Time Medical Records Assistant to support the organization, maintenance, and accuracy of resident medical records. This position works closely with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to ensure records are complete, organized, and available when needed for resident care.

Essential Functions
  • Assemble and maintain resident medical records according to facility procedures.

  • Assist with admission paperwork and other medical records tasks as assigned.

  • Maintain accurate and organized open and closed resident records.

  • Assist with chart audits to ensure required documentation is complete and up to date.

  • Review records for physician orders, vital signs, weights, summaries, and other required documentation.

  • Retrieve and re-file medical records when requested by authorized personnel.

  • Assist with maintaining forms and documentation at nursing stations.

  • Provide records or information to authorized individuals in accordance with applicable regulations.

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information.

  • Communicate documentation concerns to appropriate nursing and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Perform other medical records and administrative duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous healthcare, long-term care, medical records, or administrative experience preferred.
