Part-Time Human Resources Assistant
Brightwater Senior Living is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Human Resources Assistant to support our Human Resources team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in learning more about Human Resources, gaining hands-on experience, and building a foundation for future growth in the field.
This position will begin as part-time, with the potential to grow into a full-time role based on business needs and performance. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, comfortable handling confidential information, and willing to support a variety of HR, benefits, leave of absence, training, and administrative processes.
Position Summary
โข Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources team, including the Human Resources Generalist, Benefits Specialist, and Director of Human Resources.
โข Assist with benefits administration, leave of absence processes, employee communications, training support, and HR documentation.
โข Support compliance with company policies and applicable local, state, federal, and provincial regulations.
โข Help ensure HR programs and processes are completed accurately, consistently, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
โข Assist with leave of absence administration, including gathering required documentation, tracking status updates, requesting medical certifications when needed, and supporting eligibility review in consultation with the HR team.
โข Help communicate benefit-related information to employees, including premium payment responsibilities when payroll deductions are not available.
โข Support employee benefits administration for U.S. and Canada locations.
โข Assist employees with benefit enrollment processes, including medical, dental, and vision plans.
โข Provide new hires with benefit information and enrollment guidance.
โข Help resolve employee questions by coordinating with benefits administrators and insurance providers.
โข Provide ongoing administrative support to HR.
โข Prepare reports by collecting, reviewing, and summarizing HR-related information and trends.
โข Support training and development programs, including scheduling, tracking, and compliance-related follow-up.
โข Assist with HR reports, metrics, documentation, and special projects.
โข Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and timely follow-through on assigned tasks.
โข Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
โข Interest in Human Resources, employee support, benefits, payroll, training, or administrative work.
โข Previous HR experience is helpful but not required; this is a beginner-friendly role with opportunities to learn.
โข Strong written and verbal communication skills.
โข Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, service-oriented approach.
โข Strong attention to detail, organization, prioritization, and follow-up.
โข Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
โข Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
โข Willingness to learn, ask questions, and support a variety of HR processes.
