As a part-time equestrian, your responsibilities may include assisting with daily horse care such as feeding, grooming, and mucking out stables, as well as exercising or schooling horses under supervision. You may also support instructors during riding lessons or help maintain tack and equipment. Flexibility is important since schedules can vary based on barn needs, and you’ll often work closely with a small team of trainers, barn staff, and sometimes clients. Strong communication, patience, and adaptability help build trust with horses and collaborate effectively with trainers and other staff. These skills ensure the safety and well-being of both horse and rider while supporting efficient stable operations.
