Job description

University Collections (UC), which is a part of Indiana University (IU) Research, was created in 2018 to ensure proper stewardship of library, museum, and archival collections throughout the Indiana University system. In 2022, UC opened University Collections at McCalla, a combination exhibition, event, and teaching space that supports IU's many collections, student and faculty creative works, and community collaborations.
Job Summary
The Michael A. McRobbie University Collections Internship provides a selected undergraduate student with a paid, semester-long position with University Collections.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Hands-on experience in artistic, historical, and scientific collections along with expert faculty and staff guidance.
  • Gains experience in collection administration, exhibition planning and execution, event management, museum technology, and more.
Qualifications
Combinations of related education and experience maybe considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
Preferred
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Indiana University Bloomington.
Preferred
  • Course work covering art history, history, anthropology, curation, and museums.
SKILLS
Preferred
