Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Elkhart, IN

Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Hours can be somewhat flexible.)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a consistent part-time schedule in a collaborative office environment. Previous Accounts Payable experience is helpful, but not required. The ideal candidate is organized, enjoys problem-solving, and is comfortable creating an efficient workflow.

Overview
  • Match purchase orders, packing slips, and vendor invoices before entering invoices into the accounting system (approximately 50% of the role).
  • Process the weekly check run by selecting invoices for payment, printing checks, processing ACH payments, and filing supporting documentation (approximately 25%).
  • Respond to vendor payment inquiries and questions, primarily through email (approximately 25%).
  • Work within a legacy accounting system while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ensure invoices are properly approved and documented before processing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and developing efficient processes.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Professional written communication skills.
  • Previous office, administrative, bookkeeping, or Accounts Payable experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
