What is paired recruiting?

Paired recruiting is a hiring approach where two recruiters or hiring professionals work together throughout the recruitment process. This method allows for collaborative decision-making, reduces individual bias, and helps ensure a more thorough evaluation of candidates. By leveraging the perspectives and expertise of two team members, paired recruiting can lead to better hiring outcomes and a more structured interview process.

How does the paired recruiting approach impact the candidate experience during the hiring process?

Paired recruiting involves two recruiters or a recruiter and a hiring manager collaborating throughout the candidate selection process. This approach enhances the candidate experience by ensuring more consistent communication, timely feedback, and a broader perspective during interviews. It also allows for quicker decision-making and reduces the chances of bias, as multiple viewpoints are considered. Candidates often appreciate the increased transparency and engagement, which can lead to a more positive impression of the company.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a paired recruiter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Paired Recruiter, you need a solid understanding of talent acquisition strategies, interview evaluation, and collaborative hiring processes, often supported by experience in HR or recruiting roles. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), video interview platforms, and candidate assessment tools is typically important. Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback are crucial soft skills in this collaborative recruiting approach. These abilities ensure an effective, unbiased, and efficient hiring process that leads to better placement outcomes.

Job description

Our Mission
Healthcare should work for patients, but it doesn't. In their time of need, they call down outdated insurance directories. Then wait on hold. Then wait weeks for the privilege of a visit. Then wait in a room solely designed for waiting. Then wait for a surprise bill. In any other consumer industry, the companies delivering such a poor customer experience would not survive. But in healthcare, patients lack market power. Which means they are expected to accept the unacceptable.
Zocdoc's mission is to give power to the patient. To do that, we've built the leading healthcare marketplace that makes it easy to find and book in-person or virtual care in all 50 states, across 200+ specialties and +12k insurance plans. By giving patients the ability to see and choose, we give them power. In doing so, we can make healthcare work like every other consumer sector, where businesses compete for customers, not the other way around. In time, this will drive quality up and prices down.
We're 18 years old and the leader in our space, but we are still just getting started. If you like solving important, complex problems alongside deeply thoughtful, driven, and collaborative teammates, read on.
Your impact on our mission
Zocdoc's most important asset is our people. As a Lead Sales Recruiter, you'll play an essential role in our company's growth by supporting staffing for our growing Sales and GTM teams. Your ability to think outside of the box to identify, attract, and close the nation's best talent, paired with your passion for creating an efficient and highly personalized candidate experience, will impact our employees and patients for years to come.
You'll enjoy this role if you are...
  • Motivated by working in a fast-paced, data-driven recruitment environment, where we blend art and science to hit our goals
  • A leader by example; you enjoy inspiring and motivating your peers through a personal demonstration of excellence in your work
  • Highly autonomous, and enjoy tackling complex challenges. You welcome ambiguity and get excited about the unknown
  • Passionate about continuously improving everything you touch, from candidate experience to recruitment processes to stakeholder relationships. You're not afraid to ask questions and challenge processes and opinions to drive the most impactful recruiting outcomes

Your day to day is...
  • Full ownership of the end-to-end recruitment process within our Sales and GTM orgs, from initial sourcing to closing candidates, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both candidates and hiring teams for a full range of roles from Associate to Director
  • Monitoring the health of your pipelines, using data to provide relevant updates to partners on all roles, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with others on solving recruiting challenges
  • Partnering closely with stakeholders from across the business and proactively keeping everyone in the loop of current role status; fielding questions about process, market conditions, roadblocks, progress, etc.
  • Fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and belonging

You'll be successful in the role if you have...
  • 6+ years of experience owning end-to-end recruiting processes at all levels, with a strong focus on executive relationship building
  • A deep understanding of the recruiting industry; you're up to date on the latest market trends, recruiting tools and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building trust and credibility with both candidates and stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills! You believe that multiple mediums of communication are the key to success
  • A metrics-driven mindset; you leverage data to understand the health of your pipelines and identify ways to improve hiring efficiencies
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and other HR technologies to support data-driven decision-making and process optimization. A few tools that we use: Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, Workday
  • A passion for building inclusive, diverse teams; you utilize a variety of methods to attract the best talent and deliver an exceptional candidate experience to all
  • Humility. You believe in treating all people with dignity and respect, regardless of title or tenure

Benefits
  • Flexible, hybrid work environment at our convenient Soho location
  • Unlimited Vacation
  • 100% paid employee health benefit options (including medical, dental, and vision)
  • Commuter Benefits
  • 401(k) with employer funded match
  • Corporate wellness program with Wellhub
  • Sabbatical leave (for employees with 5+ years of service)
  • Competitive paid parental leave and fertility/family planning reimbursement
  • Cell phone reimbursement
  • Catered lunch everyday along with beverages and snacks
  • Employee Resource Groups and ZocClubs to promote shared community and belonging
  • Great Place to Work Certified
