Job description

Packaging Line Owner  

FAREVA - Richmond is currently seeking an experienced Packaging Line Owner to join our team in Richmond, VA.  

Who we are: FAREVA - Richmond is a leading contract manufacturer of pharmaceutical and personal care products. Located at intersection of Darbytown Road and Laburnum Avenue in Eastern Henrico County. Employs 600 full time employees. Comfortable climate controlled facility covering over 745,000 square feet.  

About the role:  

The objective of the Line Owner position is to own the effectiveness of a packaging line(s) across all three shifts for output, compliance, safety and 5S. The incumbent will monitor the output of the assigned area to identify areas of improvement and then work with the team to develop improvements and be responsible for implementation across all three shifts. All efforts shall be in line with site goals for customer service, compliance and safety. The incumbent will also perform standard PT duties for their assigned shift when needed.  

What you'll do: Monitoring and Effecting Performance of Assigned Area • Monitors assigned area for output, compliance, safety and 5S • Helps develop methods for monitoring KPI’s • Assists with troubleshooting of deficiencies • Lead efforts to develop solutions. • Obtain resources from outside department as needed, utilizing supervisor as necessary • Coach’s employees on production process proficiencies • Safety Champion for the assigned area • Ensures compliance with all housekeeping requirements • Ensures application of cGMP compliance • Assists with investigations into Packaging Incidents and collaborates with QA, Technology, etc. to develop CAPA • Ensure all shifts are maintaining log book entries and completing batch records properly. Follows up with training as required. • Communicates the following to the team on all shifts • Weekly schedule so expectations are clear. • Plans ahead so hold times are adhered to and overtime can be planned effectively. • Management/support group directives to team • Point and Calls for compliance, safety and 5S • Non-routine orders and line trials • Keeps working area in a clean and orderly condition according to established 5S principles • Participates in audits for compliance, safety and 5S • Working as a PT when needed on assigned shift Reporting/KPI’s • Documents, analyzes, and reports OEE downtime data together with OEE resources in department. • Ensures each shift is completing all required documentation of KPI data • Works with Continuous improvement /Industrial Engineer and team members to implement OEE/Process improvements • Ensures KPI’s are posted in a timely manner. • Educate employees about how to interpret KPI’s and how to relate them to their individual proficiencies  

Safety/Training • Safety Champion for the assigned area and a “role model” by demonstrating safe work practices and champions safety by making it the first consideration in every communication, assists with accident/incident investigations. • Enforces safety rules, recognizes safe behavior and practices and takes immediate action on breaches. Ensures all accidents, incidents, near misses, and potential hazards are reported to supervision immediately. Ensures that team members are working in a safe manner. • Conducts accident investigations and participates in critical task analysis. and assists with the investigation and implementing preventative measures to prevent re-occurrence. • Partners with EHS on audits, training and communication in their area. • Partners with the training department to facilitate training sessions and ensures participation of all personnel under their responsibility. • Assists in the training of new employees • Maintains training on all equipment used in all aspects of the operation; PPG’s, safety, batch record & documentation requirements  

Our ideal candidate: Education and experience • High School Diploma (or equivalent), Associates Degree preferred. • Technical training and/or experience in a mechanical field preferred • 3 plus years’ experience
