Housed within the Facilities Services department, this role will assist the Sustainability Manager with the duties of sustainability operations and programming including; data collection, processing, and analysis, community engagement, event planning, record keeping, reporting, and other tasks as needed. The position offers excellent opportunities for students to improve professional communication skills, gain experience with project management, and engage with campus sustainability both operationally and programmatically. There will also be opportunities for students to create and implement new sustainability programs/campaigns of their choice.
Please note: all students in their first year as a Sustainability Outreach Associate will be paired with a peer mentor (a returning Sustainability Outreach Associate).

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:- Collaborate with Sustainability Manager and other sustainability associates
- Assist with sustainability initiatives and programming on campus
- Participate in and promote sustainability related programs, resources, services and events
- Assist with green event planning, supervise events and coordinate/manage volunteers
- Develop, implement, and manage outreach to promote sustainability programs/initiatives, events and resources including; emails, flyers, posters, social media and campus outreach tables
- Serve as a liaison to campus organizations, residences and other departments to advertise and promote sustainability related events/programs/initiatives
- Assist in developing program and event schedules for each term by researching various topics, identifying appropriate timing for specific programs and Sustainability Calendar development
- Assist in managing/improving the campus recycling/composting program
- Support with the Annual Presidential Green Grant program and the Green Fee program
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:- Energetic and self-driven
- Excellent organizational and communications skills (oral and written)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with various social media platforms
- Knowledge of sustainability/environmental studies/related topics preferred
