Position Summary:

The person in this role will be responsible for providing analysis, support, and problem-solving strategy for MZB business accounts totaling $500 mm plus in sales. The Order Planning Specialist acts as a liaison of information and first point of contact between Production Planning, Operations, Logistics, Sales team, and external customers as it relates to all orders.

Essence of Role:

Ensure customer requirements are met with timeliness and accuracy, based on planning and alignment with internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and coordinate inventory coverage of customer orders daily via running/editing/organizing reports and adding details, reviewing different inquiry programs within ERP.
  • Handle logistics coordination to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment daily.
  • Analyze and plan order logistics to optimize efficiency daily.
  • Collaborate with production planning to align order fulfillment with production schedules via daily meetings, emails, phone, and Teams.
  • Manage soft and hard item transitions (go tos) within designated processes according to circumstances surrounding the item change.
  • Effectively interface with customers, sales, logistics and supply chain management to coordinate and communicate critical information.
  • Facilitate orders going out both on time and in full.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to order status, product availability, and logistics.
  • Generate and analyze reports on order fulfillment, lead times, and other KPIs.
  • Facilitate inventory related questions, concerns, inconsistencies, etc with appropriate parties.
  • Facilitate review and potential sale of aging inventory within reasonable approved timelines.
  • Research root causes for under delivering to customer expectations and devise and execute action plans to resolve reoccurring issues.
  • Facilitate connections both internally and externally between divisions/departments to direct requests accordingly.
  • Work within multiple systems both internal and external, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and more to make decisions and/or communicate pertinent information.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by Order Planning Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 yearsโ€™ experience in supply chain and logistics and/or customer facing role strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated strong internal and external customer focus.
  • Strong and logical analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or customer service roles.

Succession Path

  • Potential to move into a level II position with expertise in respective duties and with limited leadership needed.
