Job description

Free People is looking for a Temporary Omni Purchase Order Assistant who will support in driving the Free People business by managing and monitoring daily operational functions within a designated buying category. Offer support to your Buying Team partners to ensure execution of purchase orders and the details around them are complete and on time to grow the Free People brand. The role will be responsible for all our channels: direct, retail, wholesale, marketplaces and international.


  • Responsible for entering and revising purchase orders for all channels for specific categories
  • Daily entry of purchase orders and purchase order revisions
  • Ensure purchase orders feed properly to the ticketing bureaus
  • Manage purchase order ship to locations, ensuring correct PO splits to our Distribution Centers
  • Communicate with cross functional partners on purchase order changes
  • Partner with the Buying Team on purchase order revisions such as quantity, style/color and date changes
  • Manage price changes for specific categories
  • Key price changes in Island Pacific and Blue Cherry
  • Resend purchase orders to ticketing bureaus as needed
  • Have a weekly meeting with Buying partners to ensure timely delivery of purchase orders to our Distribution Centers
  • Act as liaison between the Buyer and the Distribution Centers & Accounts Payable (purchase order related issues such as: overages, shortages, receipt discrepancies, etc.)
  • Manage style creation in Island Pacific and Blue Cherry
  • Style Maintenance: Responsible for ensuring the correct product is active or restricted based on location and channel

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Very detail-oriented to ensure data is entered correctly
  • Strong Time Management skills
  • High sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to learn quickly and to retain information. Must be analytical and be able to comprehend how multiple systems interact.
  • Works well within a team environment and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience in Island Pacific, Blue Cherry and or Tradestone is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
