Koniag Operations Services, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Security Programs Monitor and Operations Support Specialist to support the administration and monitoring of security programs in a Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DON) environment. The ideal candidate is a dependable professional with a foundational understanding of DoD and DON security regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to support both security compliance and emergency dispatch operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all security requirements are properly implemented and that noncompliance issues are identified and escalated appropriately.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

The Department Security Coordinator will provide monitoring, administrative, and operational support across security programs and facilities operations in accordance with established organization and department procedures. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and assist with the administration of security programs to ensure all applicable security requirements are properly implemented and maintained in accordance with DoD and DON regulations.
  • Identify and report noncompliance issues to the appropriate Security Program Manager and Security Officer in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow organization and department procedures to complete specific maintenance, operations, and monitoring support tasks consistently and accurately.
  • Operate communication equipment to receive incoming calls for assistance and dispatch appropriate personnel and equipment to the scene of emergencies and service requests.
  • Operate telephone console systems to receive, screen, and route incoming calls for assistance in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Apply familiarity with facility and building management concepts, practices, and procedures to support day-to-day security and operational activities.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of security monitoring activities, calls received, dispatches made, and actions taken.
  • Coordinate with security personnel, facilities staff, and leadership to ensure timely resolution of security and operational issues.
  • Support continuous improvement of security program administration through diligent monitoring, accurate reporting, and proactive communication with program stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Basic knowledge of DoD and DON security regulations is required.

Desired:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
  • Prior experience in a security administration, physical security, or operations support role within a DoD or DON environment is desirable.
  • Experience monitoring centralized systems, facilities operations, or security programs is desirable.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic working knowledge of DoD and DON security regulations, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to monitor security programs and identify noncompliance issues, escalating findings to the appropriate Security Program Manager and Security Officer.
  • Proficiency in operating communication equipment and telephone console systems to receive calls and dispatch personnel and equipment accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation of security monitoring activities and operational events.
  • Ability to follow established organizational and departmental procedures consistently and accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey security compliance findings and operational information to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with facility and building management concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective when managing multiple priorities or responding to emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Prior experience working in a DoD or DON security administration or physical security role.
  • Familiarity with personnel security, physical security, information security, or operations security (OPSEC) program requirements.
  • Experience with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems or similar operational tracking and logging tools.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols and coordination procedures, including interaction with security, fire, and medical response personnel.
  • Experience interfacing with Security Program Managers, Security Officers, or other senior security stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with DoD security regulations such as DoD 5200.01, SECNAV M-5510.30, or related DON security manuals.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for reporting, logging, and correspondence purposes.
  • Active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a required security clearance is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor when interacting with customers, security personnel, and leadership under both routine and emergency conditions.
