Supervise : Exempt Warehouse Supervisor

Operations Supervisor Job Summary: Manage the overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department. The Operations Supervisor will ensure safe and efficient operations; serve as a company representative on regulatory issues; enhance the operational procedures, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting, and look for opportunities to expand systems; and carry out supervisory responsibilities of the company's policies and applicable laws.

Essential Functions:

  • Direct warehouse staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees. Supervise staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Scheduling and assigning workflow of warehouse personnel.
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing processes and procedures to produce customer service excellence.
  • Ensure correct and timely handling of products within the established Vertical Cold Storage policies and procedures. Utilizing appropriate, defined practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Control inventory by conducting physical counts and reconciling with system software.
  • Supervise export compliance understanding processes and maintain documentation and communication between all affected personnel and customers. Validate accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with mandated guidelines.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols and obtaining shipper and receiver authorizations.
  • Protect shipments by investigating causes of damage and discrepancies in consignments.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse inspecting equipment and issuing work orders for repair.
  • Enforces safety policies by conducting inspections, reporting statistics, counseling employees, and identifying and correcting infractions.
  • Support of Human Resource operations ensuring appropriate documents are accurately completed while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Work with company practices to develop and improve collaborative workflows among warehouse, production, office, maintenance, and administrative personnel.
  • Support assigned duties of the General Manager and Operations Manager to assist in the business of the facility; other duties to be assigned as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to read and write English.
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds frequently.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in warehouse/distribution or production management.
  • Knowledge and experience in Safety and OSHA desired.

Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate will work in a warehouse environment with frequently prolonged work schedules with little notice and continual exposure to extreme cold and noise. Some travel may be required.
