Due to continuing growth, we are seeking a Tax Manager to join our team. In addition to the traditional roll-up your sleeves tax review and client advisory, the role requires a strong sense of entrepreneurship, strategy, and management. We rely heavily on our local leadership team in each office to develop and execute the firm's vision. As a Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to collaborate with a growing team of professionals with the needed expertise to accomplish client goals.


This specific role is based out of our Newbury Park / Thousand Oaks, CA office with a hybrid schedule. We are committed to finding the best talent and are happy to provide relocation support for those looking to join us.

What you will do:

  • Prepare trust tax returns
  • Correspond with IRS and state jurisdictions for notices and income tax audits, which may include preparing responses, creating support schedules, etc.

  • Provide support with various special tax related projects.
  • Conduct tax research and prepare internal tax memorandums.
  • Verify general ledger tax accounts and when tax work is done work on bookkeeping. Making necessary entries and adjustments as necessary.
  • Work with various internal departments in gathering information needed for tax deliverables
  • Build, maintain and enhance client relationships.
  • Advise clients on issues related to tax, finance & business practices.
  • Support manager with various ad-hoc projects.

What we look for:

  • 4+ years of experience preparing complex tax returns both individuals and entities within a tax department in a public accounting, business management, or tax advisory firm
  • Experience working with tax preparation software CCH Axcess
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies relating to tax, accounting, and finance
  • Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred
  • CPA License Required

The expected salary range for this role is $95,000 - $150,000 per year, which represents a good faith and reasonable estimate. Compensation decisions depend on numerous factors including bona fide qualifications and the facts and circumstances of each case at the time of hiring. Relevant qualifications include, but are not limited to employee education, training, skillset, credentials/certifications, relevant work experience, geographic work location (including if the employee will be hybrid or fully in-office), the scope and responsibilities of the role, internal level and peer equity, and market considerations.
