Production Manager - RELOCATION OFFERED
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, high-quality production that meets customer demand and cost targets. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and a track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Relocation assistance is offered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage production operations to meet safety, quality, volume and on-time delivery targets.
  • Coach, develop and direct production supervisors and hourly staff; build a high-performance team and strong safety culture.
  • Plan and manage production schedules, capacity planning and resource allocation to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.
  • Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement projects (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, TPM).
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including yield, OEE, scrap, cycle time and labor productivity; take corrective actions to meet performance goals.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement to resolve production issues and drive product/process improvements.
  • Manage production budgets, cost control initiatives and inventory levels while identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements and promote a culture of workplace safety.
  • Oversee root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for product nonconformances and production disruptions.
  • Support implementation and use of ERP/MRP systems for scheduling, materials tracking and production reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing experience with at least 2-3 years in a production leadership role; experience in industrial/manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies; certifications such as Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity management, quality systems (e.g., ISO, TS) and safety standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing frontline supervisors and union/non-union hourly workforces.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing metrics reporting; familiarity with PLCs and basic process control is beneficial.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change.
  • Willingness to relocate; company offers relocation assistance to support a smooth transition for the right candidate.
