Job description

Utz Quality Foods is hiring a Regional Operations Manager (ROM) to be responsible for leading and overseeing Warehouse Leads and their extended teams across 4-6 assigned Warehouse Sales Centers in the Seattle, WA area, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with company standards. Reporting directly to the Sales Operations Director, this role maintains a minimum of 98% staffing at all times and requires approximately 80% weekly travel to assigned centers. The Regional Operations Manager ensures correct ordering and stocking of all items, upholds in-stock and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) standards, and guarantees Warehouse Teams have the appropriate sales materials, supplies, and point of sale (POS) for Independent Operator (IO) communication and awareness. This position manages all related expense lines, full budget, and labor key performance indicators (KPI) for each center, and provides the Sales Operations Director with accurate, up-to-date data on warehouse activities, including staffing, safety, sales, and expenses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees Warehouse Leads and extended teams for 4-6 assigned Warehouse Sales Centers, ensuring a minimum of 98% staffing at all locations and providing ongoing leadership and direction.
  • Maintains a travel schedule of approximately 80% weekly to assigned Warehouse Sales Centers, ensuring in-person oversight, engagement, and support to all teams.
  • Ensures Warehouse Teams are accurately ordering and stocking all required items and quantities, with direct oversight of in-stock levels and compliance with SDS standards.
  • Verifies that Warehouse Teams have sufficient sales materials, supplies, and POS available and in stock to facilitate effective communication and awareness for IOs.
  • Manages all related expense lines for assigned coverage area, including full responsibility for budget and labor KPIs across all Warehouse Sales Centers under their supervision.
  • Provides the Sales Operations Director with timely, accurate, and comprehensive data and reports on all warehouse activities, including staffing levels, safety compliance, sales performance, and expense management.
  • Supervises, trains, coaches, and mentors Warehouse Leads and associates to operate efficiently and deliver exceptional support to the sales operations team and external customers.
  • Ensures coverage of warehouse operations during absences (vacation, sick leave, terminations) and plans accordingly to maintain operational continuity.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and cleanliness, ensuring all Warehouse Sales Centers meet or exceed company standards and that all safety protocols are implemented and followed.
  • Oversees inventory accuracy and conducts or ensures scheduled inventory counts, promptly resolving variances and maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between Warehouse Leads, warehouse personnel, and sales leadership to ensure clear, consistent, and accurate communication.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives, monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), and implements operational enhancements to optimize efficiency, cost savings, and service quality.
  • Ensures adherence to all company policies, guidelines, and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned to support overall company and department objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Courses in supply chain management, materials management, logistics, production planning or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse, logistics, or supply chain experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing multiple sites or regions, preferably in a food distribution, CPG, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, labor KPI oversight, and expense control across multiple locations.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate, coach, and develop Warehouse Leads and extended teams across multiple sites.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities to maintain high staffing levels and operational continuity.
  • Excellent data management and reporting skills, with the ability to provide clear, actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project) and experience with warehouse management systems, ERP, and inventory control systems including wireless hand-held devices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working effectively with all levels of staff, management, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment with frequent travel and remote oversight.
  • High integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information and personnel matters.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to obtain a DOT medical card; able to safely operate a route sales delivery step van or box truck as needed.
  • Salary Range: $85,000-$115,000
