Lake Washington School District is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Director of Human Resources: Staffing and Operations. This is a full-time, year-round position beginning July 1, 2026.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lake Washington School District Human Resources Department is designed to be a strategic partner to building and department leaders, so they are supported in creating spaces where adults thrive so that students thrive. The Director of Human Resources: Staffing and Operations will further the district's mission through the development, implementation and communication of clear and consistent human resources practices that demonstrate respect for staff and support for student learning. This position provides oversight for certificated and classified staffing data across the district, the substitute office, and HRIS processes and information. The Director of Human Resources: Staffing and Operations is a member of the Human Resources leadership team and must be capable of strategic and systemic thinking and be able to work with colleagues to make certain the functions of the department are integrated, aligned, supportive of one another and contribute to the district's mission and goals. This position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources and supervises HR staff as assigned.
SALARY: Central Leadership Level 11 - Step 1 $184,452 - Step 2 $188,216 (based on 2025-2026 salary schedule) per year, 261 days. This is an exempt position. Full benefit package available. 261 days. This is an exempt position. Full benefit package included.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Any combination or experience and education commensurate to the guidelines described below will be considered.
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) degree with course work in human resources, education , or a related field required.
โ€ข Three (3) years' experience at a managerial level preferred or experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and ability required to perform the work.
โ€ข Preference will be given to candidates who have experience as a school administrator with experience working in employee relations or human resources functions in a Washington state public education setting.
Demonstrated success in:
โ€ข Overseeing HR operations and data systems.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices.
โ€ข Must have access to and use of a personal vehicle for district-related travel.
