What You\'ll Do

The mission of the Jr Business Operations Analyst is to elevate the broker, contract holder, and participant experiences interacting with Principal Pension Risk Transfer through printed and online materials, agreements, letters, and forms. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage and optimize our document management systems, with a focus on leveraging technology to modernize interactions, process improvement initiatives, and brand & compliance maintenance. Act as a liaison between business partners and technical areas to implement business, marketing, and technical infrastructure solutions to meet immediate and strategic needs. Participate in and contribute to strategic discussions and recommend cost effective solutions. Lead large business unit and cross business unit projects including analysis, business/functional requirements and testing. 

  • Assist with the business analysis for large and complex projects and/or initiatives. Lead business analysis for business process and system changes. Utilize problem-solving techniques to present clear problem definition and provide potential solution(s) and workarounds, including cost benefit analysis, impact analysis and business/functional requirements. Identify and mitigate risks. Diagnose and execute approved changes. 
  • Contribute to organizational learning by leading, mentoring, and coaching others. Develop and share best practices and facilitate improvements. Build and sustain positive project team relationships. Use change management concepts and manage the culture and people impact of change. 
  • Contribute to projects strategically aligned to business objectives to successful completion, including participation in the prioritization process. 
  • Identify operational performance improvement opportunities (OE) and innovative solutions. Analyze and recommend alternative solutions. 
  • Proactively troubleshoot systems and business problems. Act as a point of contact for business and IT leaders to resolve large and complex system issues. 
  • Work with internal business partners to implement business and marketing solutions to meet immediate and strategic needs. Participate in and contribute to strategic discussions and recommend cost effective solutions. 
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required. 
  • Work with internal business partners to implement strategic and operational technology initiatives to strengthen the quality, productivity, and efficiency of our operations. 
  • Actively communicate with business, project partners and IT on business processes and system changes or problems. Build and sustain positive relationships to ensure timely solutions. Act as a liaison, partnering closely with business, IT, and project communities to foster teamwork. 

Who You Are
  • Associates/bachelors degree or equivalent plus 4+ years related work experience and previous informal leadership experience (ie. projects/workgroups/initiatives, etc.).   
  • Excellent written communication skills with very high attention to detail. 
  • Be able to execute effectively in a matrix environment. 
  • Possess excellent leadership, strong analytical, problem-solving, and big-picture/conceptual skills. 
  • Have the ability to work with people at all levels and influence others without formal authority. 
  • Be able to build and maintain relationships and facilitate collaboration and communication. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to embrace and understand the change process and effectively guide others through change. 
  • Strong technical, financial services product and business processes acumen

Preferred qualifications that will help you stand out:

  • Experience with digital signature platforms and content management systems a plus. 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Sign, DocAgility, ProAdmin, ServiceNow. 
  • Experience with OCR/barcode technology implementation 
  • Pension plan experience preferred including contract language experience.   

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

  • Wichita, KS: $69,300 - $94,500 / year
  • Des Moines, IA: $73,150 - $99,750 / year
  • Charlotte, NC: $77,000 - $105,000 / year
  • Chicago/Minneapolis: $84,700 - $115,500 / year
  • Los Angeles/New York City: $92,400 - $126,000 / year

Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, and Raleigh, NC).
