Job description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing product analysis and support in the process of executing and implementing new life and/or annuity products and enhancements to existing products. This position is also responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of life and/or annuity products, business platforms, data extracts, and providing ongoing support of retail projects and initiatives. Responsibilities are inclusive of product training, development of product supporting checker tools, and administrative/proposal systems verification to ensure product integrity is achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the overall Product Roadmap to meet the timing and milestones from the Product Development and Product Implementation deliverables while exhibiting flexibility as projects are re-prioritized or timelines are shifted.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of checker tools and calculators used to support new products, riders, enhancements, and remediation efforts in the Administration and Illustration systems and any applicable production requests (e.g. Accelerated Death Benefit quotes).
  • Assist in the creation and review of Model Office/UAT test plans for new products, riders, enhancements, data feeds, and remediation efforts within various systems, in coordination with other internal and external partners.
  • Assist in the execution of Model Office/UAT testing for new products, riders, enhancements, data feeds, and remediation efforts within various systems.
  • Provide additional Product Development and Product Implementation support which includes assisting in the review and creation of Product Specs, Business Requirement Documents, Checker Tools, and policy forms while exhibiting strong knowledge of current system(s) functionality.
  • Provide support to business-as-usual items, such as completing policy holder service requests, data analysis requests, and breaking down current system product calculations/mechanics, in a timely and efficient manner which may include manual calculations.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required – preferred in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Life insurance and/or annuity product knowledge is required with preference for Indexed UL and Fixed Indexed Annuity experience.
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, computer, and team skills.
  • 3+ years of technical/professional experience preferred in financial services industry.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced production environment while addressing multiple projects and responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with Insurance administration and illustration systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, SQL, and Visual Basic for Applications, with the ability to create, manage, and debug complex formulas, and create and manage large data sets.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, analytical and be able to handle multiple projects.
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and to influence key project decisions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and is able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments.
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization in both technical and business areas successfully.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools.
