Company Overview
Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.
Overview
The Financial Analyst Intern will support the manufacturing organization by providing accurate financial analysis, reporting, and insights that help drive cost discipline and operational decision-making. This role is ideal for a third-year student or recent graduate who is eager to learn manufacturing finance, build strong analytical foundations, learned cutting edge AI/BI tools, and develop into a trusted business partner.
This role follows a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days per week spent onsite at our Marina, CA office.
Responsibilities
  • Support financial planning and analysis for Manufacturing
  • Assist with monthly close activities by supporting the finance team with variance investigations
  • Support workforce planning activities, including headcount tracking, labor cost analysis, overtime monitoring, and hiring plan reconciliation
  • Assist in tracking cost reduction and efficiency initiatives to ensure savings are measurable
  • Support capital planning process through spend tracking, reporting, and basic business case analysis
  • Prepare financial summaries and presentations for internal stakeholders

Required
  • Ownership of their quality of work, curiosity and willingness to learn, and an eagerness to achieve results
  • 0-1 years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, or related analytical roles (internships included)
  • In progress or completed bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Foundational understanding of finance and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, lookups, and basic financial modeling

Additional Information
Relocation Assistance: This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes junior to senior level students, is $18.00 - $22.75/hour. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor's, Master's, and/or Ph.D. degree in progress or completed is $5,550 - $7,800/month. Individual pay is determined by internship role, department, experience, job-related skills, and level of education.
