Job description

Flightline Operation Manager
Company:

Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) has a rewarding opportunity for a Flightline Operations Manager (Level K) reporting to Patuxent River, Maryland.
As a Flightline Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of IAM represented Aviation Maintenance Professionals in preparing Navy carrier-based aircraft for ground and flight testing.
This position will be working 1st shift and will require up to 25% domestic travel.
Position Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure that air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for delivery
  • Interfaces with flight crews, engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project
  • Experience working in a highly regulated maintenance environment where compliance with policies and procedures is essential
  • Experience (military or commercial) in aircraft maintenance and Flight line operations
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active
  • Associate degree or higher and/or equivalent military experience
  • Experience as a team lead, project lead and/or maintenance supervisor
