Job description


Summary:
The Assessment Specialist reports directly to the Academic Operations Team Lead and works closely with the C&I team in support of our common assessment model along with a variety of departmental projects and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for key Curriculum & Instruction initiatives, primarily our internally-developed interim common assessments. Areas of support will include but not be limited to the following: Formatting student- and teacher-ready assessment materials, editing & proofreading, entering assessment content into both the NHA's proprietary, custom-built assessment system, and a third-party online assessment platform. This will also include supporting item and assessment development.
  • Provide support for all schools with NWEA/MAP and state testing administration. Also, execute state reporting compliance tasks for these assessments.
  • Provide logistical support to all schools for new teacher mentoring program.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum & Instruction team members and school leaders to obtain information, coordinate logistics, and ensure timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
  • Support other projects and initiatives, as needed (e.g., myNHA development and enhancements for applications including gradebook, assessment, and curriculum).
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience, teaching experience is preferred.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to use technology fluently.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

This is an in-person position at our NHA Service Center located at 3850 Broadmoor Ave., Grand Rapids, MI.
