A leading electronics testing company is seeking a Software Developerto design, develop, and support Excel-based data collection solutions that integrate with Microsoft SQL Server, with a long-term focus on transitioning to a scalable web application. This role partners with business stakeholders to translate requirements into automated, user-friendly tools that improve data quality, streamline workflows, and support future application development.
Software Developer Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Excel-based data collection tools integrated with Microsoft SQL Server using VBA, macros, formulas, validations, guided workflows, and business rules to ensure accurate and efficient data entry.
  • Translate business requirements into configurable workflows, business rules, dependencies, mandatory fields, exclusion logic, and user-friendly forms while collaborating with stakeholders to validate functionality and support adoption.
  • Support the design and planning of a scalable web application by defining application requirements, data structures, workflows, user experience, and technical documentation.
  • Develop and execute unit, regression, scenario-based, and user acceptance testing; troubleshoot application, data, workflow, and business rule issues; and promote solutions through development, test, and production environments.
  • Document application functionality, requirements, assumptions, test cases, and support procedures while participating in Agile Scrum ceremonies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver maintainable, high-quality solutions.

Software Developer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience developing Excel-based business solutions using advanced Excel features, VBA, Visual Basic, macros, structured templates, data validation, and business process automation.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, relational databases, SQL or T-SQL, and implementing business rules, workflow logic, data validation, dependencies, and constraints; experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, YAML, Python, object-oriented programming, and web application development is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies, software testing, deployment processes, and development tools such as Visual Studio, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Power BI, Report Builder, Microsoft 365, Angular, React, or similar technologies is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into technical solutions, explain technical concepts to diverse audiences, work independently, and leverage AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code are preferred.
