Job description

Office Manager

The Office Manager position is located in Child Care and reports to the Program Director. The pay grade is 407 with a pay range of $28.20-$33.84.

The Office Manager is responsible for overseeing fiscal operations, ensuring timely voucher submission, serving as a second signature on check requests, assuring adequate funds for orders, answering the phone, assisting with attendance reports, reviewing coding for monthly expenses, collecting records, developing grant budget applications, collaborating with the Director to develop budget applications, contracts, revisions, and amendments, maintaining equipment, tracking the receipt of funds, participating in the Child Care Program Management Team, overseeing Human Resources operations, assisting with developing and maintaining good staff relationships, keeping abreast of fiscal and personnel practices, adhering to all Human Resources policies, and performing all other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Program Director and supervises the administrative staff. The individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission in contacts related to this position's duties.

This individual will be measured on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

Minimum of two years of college education in a related field, two years of administrative experience, proficiency with all Microsoft Office software applications, a commitment to uphold and promote the mission of The Salvation Army, an interpersonal style that is service oriented, excellent attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills, good organizational skill, good judgment in making decisions, ability to manage projects to completion, ability to be self-motivated, extensive knowledge of social service and early childhood programs, ability to write clearly and give good instructions.

This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved, keep the Program Director informed on all critical issues, adhere to all Army policies and procedures.

This position is required to do light physical work, regularly use standard office equipment and a PC, and work in an office environment with a low noise level.
