Job description

Responsibilities
  • Manage service of process and ensure timely filing and serving of complaints
  • Coordinate with attorneys and docketing staff regarding court deadlines and case milestones
  • Track and manage discovery requests, responses, and documentation
  • Order and organize medical records and supporting case documents
  • Maintain attorney calendars using both manual and electronic calendaring systems
  • Monitor court orders, deadlines, hearings, and follow-up tasks
  • Support overall case workflow and maintain accurate electronic and physical files
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, reports, and other legal documents
  • Transcribe and draft documents from attorney dictation
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of legal secretary experience supporting litigation attorneys
  • Plaintiff litigation experience is required
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court filings, and service requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written communication and proofreading abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Experience with dictation and transcription strongly preferred
