Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly at the front desk at times, manage check-in and check-out processes, and ensure excellent patient service.
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims using systems like Epic, and Availability.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software; coordinate with providers to optimize daily clinic flow.
  • Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness; update patient files in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to ensure proper reimbursement.
  • Manage phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette; handle multi-line phone systems to direct calls appropriately.
  • Support clinical staff with intake procedures, medical documentation review, and care plan preparations to streamline patient visits.
  • Maintain organized filing of medical records, reports, and correspondence; ensure compliance with health information management standards.
  • Utilize computer skills to operate office equipment such as 10-key typing devices and Microsoft Office applications for documentation purposes.

Experience
