The Student Association (SA) is the Undergraduate Student Government serviced to enhance the undergraduate student experience. SA supports numerous student clubs/organizations and is responsible for the allocation of funds, resources, and personnel to various student-focused services and programs. SA is comprised of standing and special committees that serve as advocacy and programming bodies. Further, SA amplifies and represents the student voice through recommendations to the Geneseo administration.
OUR MISSION: The SUNY Geneseo Student Association is a platform organization specifically purposed for the advancement and development of undergraduate student life. The Student Association aims to advocate for and engage all activity fee-paying students to collaborate and to provide numerous services, programs, and opportunities to enhance their liberal arts education in order to promote a lifetime of leadership.

PURPOSE
The Office Assistant is responsible for providing administrative, operational, and customer service support for the Student Association Office. This position serves as one of the first points of contact for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors and helps ensure the efficient daily operation of the office. The Office Assistant supports office administration, recordkeeping, event preparation, and general customer service while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors in person, by phone, and through email
  • Answers general questions regarding Student Association programs, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains a professional, organized, and welcoming office environment
  • Performs clerical duties including filing, scanning, copying, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Assists with maintaining office records, forms, and administrative documentation
  • Assists with meeting preparation, including scheduling, room reservations, agenda materials, and note-taking as needed
  • Monitors and replenishes office supplies as needed.
  • Assists with office opening and closing procedures
  • Supports Student Association events, programs, meetings, and special projects
  • Provides administrative support to professional staff and student leaders
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive organizational, financial, and personnel information
  • Assists with scheduling, calendars, and general office coordination
  • Operates standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers, printers, scanners, and copiers
  • Performs a wide range of administrative and operational tasks as assigned
  • Other duties may be assigned to support departmental and organizational goals
