Job Description
Title: Typist at the Victor Teaching Center
The position may be filled as a flexible per diem external opportunity or as an extra hourly assignment for a qualified internal employee. Hours are scheduled in collaboration for mutual convenience. Approximately 4-7 hours per week.
Qualifications:
  1. Effective communication and problem solving skills.
  2. Ability to problem solve in a fast paced work environment
  3. Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting.
  4. Ability to multi task and meet realistic deadlines.
  5. Regular and predictable attendance
  6. Qualified to be employed as a Typist per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines.
  7. Skilled in developing spreadsheets, professional correspondence, and use of web-based information systems
  8. High level of organization
  9. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  10. Ability to lift and maneuver general office materials and other objects as needed.

Responsibilities Shall include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Attend meetings as needed
  2. Follow directives (written, oral, electronic)
  3. Regular use of school email
  4. General Typist assignments
  5. Safe and efficient operation of district office machines.
  6. Secretary to department administration, responsible to schedule appointments, generate correspondence for department administration, and other duties as requested
  7. Types correspondence, memos, reports, bulletins, records, etc., as requested
  8. Receives telephone messages and relays information to appropriate personnel
  9. Files all correspondence, reports, etc., as required
  10. Distributes incoming/outgoing mail to appropriate buildings/personnel
  11. Specific clerical assignments related to supervisor's area of responsibility
  12. Other assigned duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the supervisors.
  13. Maintain Data Security as applicable.
  14. Maintain confidentiality with staff, students, and family information.
  15. Operate in a respectful, responsible manner
