The Dietetic Clerk assists patients in selecting meal items and processes nutrition orders through data entry into the food and nutrition software program (CBORD). The dietetic clerk ensures patient safety by following the prescribed diet while excluding food allergies listed in the patient’s medical record. The dietetic clerk modifies patient menus, fulfills nourishments and enteral feedings, confirms accuracy of patient meal creation, processes payment for guest meals, and communicates with clinical and dietary staff to assist with patients’ specific dietary needs. The dietetic clerk provides exemplary customer service to patients and other departments.
