Job Summary

The Shipping Assistant / Clerk is responsible for the day to day coordination of shipments, verifying and maintaining shipping paperwork for accuracy.  

Duties and Responsibilities

    Prepare and verify manifests, shipping labels, bills of lading, and packing slips.  Ensure all shipping paperwork is maintained in a secure and organized manner.  
    Check all trucks in and out of WMS and assign dock doors in coordination with Dock Lead.  
    Secure signatures on bills of lading for out-going shipments, ensuring all paperwork is processed according to Lamplight and Customer specifications.
    Serve as the primary point-of-contact to carriers for incoming and outgoing shipments.
    Contact shipping carriers to arrange, coordinate, resolve or reschedule pickups. Escalate to Traffic or Shipping Supervisor as needed.
    Serve as the functional expert to assist others with questions or process related issues in both EWM and SAP shipping tools. 
    Provide backup coverage for Fulfillment Expeditor and assist with label generation for shipments as needed.
    Coordinate with leadership and communicate work assignments as needed to run dock efficiently. 
    Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education:    High School Diploma or GED.


Minimum Work Experience:    

    Shipping and warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.  
    PC literate, with skills in the use of WMS and FedEx/UPS systems preferred.  
    Willingness to work flexible hours over all shifts.
