Description
Microwave Techniques Components Division, located in Gorham, Maine is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of high-power industrial microwave systems and RF technology. Our employees create and deliver state-of-the-art microwave systems, microwave generators, and RF circulators for Scientific, Food Processing, Semiconductor, Plasma, Industrial Heating and Industrial Drying applications. What will you do in this role?
• Partner with the sales department to produce quotes for freight shipping costs for customer invoices.
• Interface with shipping companies such as FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc., to coordinate shipping dates.
• Coordinate with trucking companies to deliver freights to "hub" locations for broader distribution.
• Interpret the sales order to understand the customers' preferred shipping method and schedule shipping activities accordingly.
• Responsible to provide shipping information such as tracking numbers to key stakeholders.
• Inform the sales dept of shipping issues in a timely manner and working with the shipping companies to resolve issues.
• Follow packaging directions to ensure components are packed safely and securely to minimize damage during shipping.
• Use forklift to load trucks.
• Brand the components by creating labels and stencils
• Ensure daily shipping deadlines are met to ensure customers receive orders timely.
• Assist crate builder and operate a foam machine that distributes hot foam into packing containers.
• Tape, plug, and unmask industrial microwave components to prepare the component for industrial painting.
• Assist paint team when necessary by using an alcohol-based solution and paint thinner to clean-up parts after paining.
What do you need to be successful?
• Previous shipping experience in long haul/international shipping, previous manufacturing environment helpful
• Must be forklift certified or willing to be certified
• Strong communication skills including telephone skills
• Demonstrated computer skills, particularly working with online shipping platforms
• Teamwork skills
• Ability to think strategically to solve shipping challenges
• Reliable and dependable
• Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines
• Takes pride in work with a strong focus on quality
• Must be able to operate basic power tools, will train
• Workplace safety mindset

The shift in Gorham, Maine is Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and supplied by Microwave Techniques, including a safety shoe reimbursement program.
