Job Description:
Risk Analyst
Parsons is seeking a Risk Analyst to become a key member of its talented Insurance/Risk Management team! This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing data for insurance renewals and audits, administering various insurance programs, issuing insurance-related documents, maintaining insurance records in compliance with retention guidelines, and supporting internal stakeholders with insurance-related needs.
The ideal location for this role is Charlotte, NC, Denver, CO or Pasadena, CA. And the candidate will enjoy a hybrid or flexible work arrangement.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the administration of Parsons' global corporate insurance programs (property, casualty, professional, auto, general liability, workers' compensation, and other lines as applicable).
  • Collect, generate, and validate exposure data, loss runs, and other information for annual insurance renewals and policy audits.
  • Prepare schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for brokers, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Issue certificates of insurance (COIs) to clients and other third parties, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and corporate standards.
  • Issue and track auto insurance identification cards for Parsons' vehicle programs.
  • Coordinate, request, and track surety bonds (bid, performance, payment, and other bonds) to support Parsons' projects and business units.
  • Respond to insurance-related inquiries from internal stakeholders (projects, business units, HR, legal, procurement, fleet management, etc.) and external customers (clients, subcontractors, vendors).
  • Administer Defense Base Act (DBA) insurance program, including enrollment of eligible projects and personnel, coordination with brokers/insurers, and management of related reporting and invoicing.
  • Assist with administration of other specialty or project-specific insurance programs as needed
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers and carriers to obtain policy documents, binders, endorsements, certificates, and other documentation.
  • Maintain and update the database of insurance policies, endorsements, surety bonds, certificates, and related documents in accordance with Parsons' document retention guidelines.
  • Utilize the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) to input, update, and report on insurance and surety data. Assist in developing and refining RMIS reports and workflows to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Maintain Parsons' internal Insurance website.
  • Assist with drafting internal guidance materials for business units and project teams on insurance-related topics.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports related to insurance, surety, claims, and risk metrics.
  • Support other special projects as needed.

What Skills You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business, accounting, or a related field
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM), CPCU, or other industry certifications are a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate risk management, insurance brokerage, underwriting, or a related field
  • Experience supporting large, complex organizations (engineering, construction, infrastructure, or government contracting) is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of commercial property & casualty insurance, including:
    • General liability, auto, workers' compensation, professional liability, excess/umbrella, and surety
    • Familiarity with Defense Base Act insurance and government contracting is desirable
    • Ability to interpret policy language, endorsements, contracts, and insurance requirements
  • Experience issuing and managing certificates of insurance and surety bonds
  • Proficiency with RMIS or similar database/enterprise systems; strong Excel and data management skills
  • High attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Customer-service orientation with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach

  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak renewal periods or special projects
  • Limited travel may be required for meetings, training, or project support

Salary Range: $74,800.00 - $130,900.00
