Desktop Support Technician

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shift
Work Location: In person

Job Summary

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide technical support and assistance to end users. This individual will troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity and equipment issues while helping ensure the smooth operation of the company's technology systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting and customer service skills and be comfortable working directly with both technical and non-technical employees in an on-site corporate environment.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to help desk tickets and provide timely resolution to technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, including network connectivity, printer issues and software installations.
  • Install, configure and maintain computers, software and peripheral equipment.
  • Provide technical support for Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Assist with user account management, password resets and security permissions.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including computer and application setup.
  • Document support activities and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT team members.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on technology projects and system implementations.
  • Maintain clear and accurate IT documentation.
  • Provide professional and customer-focused support to employees at all levels of the organization.
Requirements
  • At least three years of professional desktop support, help desk or similar IT support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an IT team.
  • Ability to work on-site in New York City Monday through Friday.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ServiceNow or another IT ticketing platform.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience with Active Directory and user-access management.
  • Experience supporting employees in a corporate or professional-services environment.
