The National Account Rep is responsible to prospect, present and secure new account relationships for environmental waste management programs conducted by company. This position will function as the ‘single point of contact’ for their client base and liaison responsible for coordinating between Customer’s Corporate, Site Locations, Accounting and Senior Management.

Responsibilities of Position:

  • Responsible to secure new clients for William Thomas Group (WTG) environmental services management programs via prospecting and networking of potential corporate base.
  • Secure new multi-site corporate clients for environmental waste management services and/or industrial clients with Total Waste Management requirements.
  • Sell WTG management programs including a combination of solid waste, recycling, liquid waste, organic waste, sustainability, zero landfill, beneficial re-use, and waste to energy in order to satisfy specific needs of potential clients and current clients.
  • Utilize internal WTG department structure to assist in troubleshooting and resolution of client concerns and issues as necessary.
  • Responsible to perform relationship development functions to ensure client satisfaction and continued WTG loyalty with assistance from internal support and WTG management.
  • Provide and adhere to satisfactory communication schedule for each client, based on volume, quantity, and complexity of WTG program functions utilizing electronic reporting, webinars, conference calls and client visits as necessary.
  • Ensure WTG management agreements are in place and remain current for complete National Account Rep (NAR) client base.
  • Assist internal WTG departments with completion, submittal, and follow up regarding Request For Proposal (RFP) opportunities with potential clients.
  • Maintain sales pipeline reporting via daily update into GMS or other program, as required.
  • Maintain adequate communication with WTG sales manager and division president regarding new client status to include potential revenue and anticipated expense requirements for client program.
  • Attend, exhibit, and present WTG program detail at trade shows, vendor/supplier events, and client functions as required.
  • Provide liaison between levels of Client hierarchy, service providers, and WTG Management Team, as needed.
  • Interact with internal personnel and external client contacts in a professional manner.
  • As necessary, assist WTG Accounts Receivable (A/R) to ensure collections per company terms, and reduction of A/R aging to thirty days or less.
  • Maintain organized documents and records.
  • Customer retention measured by limiting service contract loss.
  • Promote sustained growth of the Team and the Company.
  • Promote “New Customer’ sales through personal/professional contacts.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

  • Ability to perform extensive travel, including overnight travel.
  • Excellent communication and formal presentation skills, including negotiation expertise.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, in a team, or lead a team to meet or exceed goals.
  • Must present and communicate in a professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be organized with good time management skills.
  • Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications.

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:

  • Minimum five years of sales related experience within environmental industry; 2-3 year’s selling to large multi-site corporate and/or industrial accounts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Profit and Loss operations/applications, sales and marketing.
  • Client maintenance and retention experience.
  • Knowledge of the waste industry a plus.

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
