Are you an experienced MSP engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and working across diverse client environments? The Dirks Group, a trusted MSP supporting organizations across central Wisconsin, is looking for an MSP Engineer (L3) to design, implement, and support modern infrastructure solutions.

This is a hands-on, senior-level role where you'll take ownership of client environments, lead projects, and serve as a key escalation point for advanced technical challenges. This is an in-person role based in Wausau, Wisconsin.

What You'll Do

  • Design, deploy, support, and continuously improve client infrastructure across networking, servers, and cloud environments

  • Work with technologies including firewalls, switches, wireless, VPNs, physical/virtual servers, Azure, and Microsoft 365

  • Act as a senior escalation point, resolving complex issues and performing root-cause analysis

  • Lead client-facing projects such as migrations, upgrades, refreshes, and new implementations

  • Define and document infrastructure standards, architectures, and major configuration changes

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams on technical planning and long-term roadmaps

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to overall team growth

What You Bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in a similar technical role (MSP experience preferred)

  • Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching)

  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security appliances

  • Experience supporting Windows Server and virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V)

  • Proven experience with Azure and Microsoft 365, including hybrid environments

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues independentlyand communicate clearly with clients

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, client-facing MSP environment

  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Nice to Have

  • Infrastructure or cloud certifications

  • Experience with hybrid identity solutions
