Job description

Monitor Tech - Nights

McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center is your community medical provider, serving the Willamette Valley and its residents.  Our 113-bed hospital offers inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, medical, surgical and emergency care.  We are a family of caregivers offering care to our larger family — our community. 

Position Details:

  • Hourly base rate: $21.14 - $26.89
  • Shift: Nights
  • Shift Hours Per Week: 24 hours/week, 12-hour shifts
  • SEIU Local 49 represented position

Job Summary:

  • Communicate clearly: verbally, in writing, on the telephone and via the patient call system.
  • Simultaneous observation and evaluation of real time cardiac monitors and telemetry monitors.
  • Manage unit secretarial activity: assemble, disassemble patient charts, transcribe orders
  • Use computers.
  • Examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph monitors.
  • Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeat.
  • Ensures that monitors are functioning properly.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates degree preferred and at least 1 year of experience in the field.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
